Last week I went to the doctor. My blood pressure was elevated. I have had toxemia with every pregnancy so far, so this was no surprise, just a pain. The doctor sent me to the hospital to be monitored and tested further. I was sent home later, but relegated to bed rest. I felt relieved because I didn't want to have the baby that week, as all my in-laws were coming into town for Joe's 60th birthday celebration. (We had a blast by the way, I will post the pictures to prove it later!)
So Yesterday when I went to my weekly appointment, I was hoping the doctor would want to induce me next Monday. He would have too, except he is going out of town next week. What a pain!!! So I am scheduled to be induced on the 12th...and have to be on bed rest until then.
I have always pictured bed rest to be a rather relaxing idea...instead it is driving me crazy. I feel like a lazy person who doesn't accomplish anything. Thankfully, my parents live with me right now, and can help out. I am trying to be patient and hang in.
The one fun thing...Ashley is going to be induced on the 13th, so we will be in the hospital together. This has been a hilarious experience being pregnant at the same time. We have had all of our appointments together and now will finish up together. I am sad to miss her birth though...I will probably be hooked up to magnesium sulfate down the hall somewhere (a really gross drug I always have to have for the toxemia.)

yeah bed rest doesn't super awesome...hope it goes by fast. can't wait to have two new family members soon!
I've been thinking about you ever since Ashley blogged about your bed rest on her blog. Bed rest is not fun. I had to be on bed rest for a few days and almost went crazy, I can't imagine it lasting weeks. I hope you are reading plenty of books to fill the time.
Oh this little baby is going to be so awesome. Yay for Dr. B. Dr. Harward, no gracias!
Magnesium sulfate? Ick, that does sound disgusting, thankfully you don't have to smell it.
I am glad that it is almost over for you. I don't envy the bed rest. But my sister and I were pregnant together twice and we hated it. We then couldn't help each other out because we were so sick and then I am in pain from about 5 months on. I am glad that you have your parents to help.
Hooray for the 12th! Do you have a bell to ring from your bed? :) I'd get one and a stack of books and enjoy it as much as possible!
The 12th is a great day! Jane was June 12th so it will be easy for me to remember :) Hang in there...only 8 more days! :)
Well, you must have had your little one by now. I can totally relate to bed rest. I had to got on bedrest with the last three and it was a month of limited activities, 3 months of total bedrest, weekly shots, and ended up with that terrible magnesium sulfate with the last one. After five c-sections my body is so done having babies! I hope your birth went well, and you and the baby are recovering quickly. They make it all worth it!!!
I had to take a peak at Ashley's blog to see if she posted your baby, and it was too cute! It looks like you had a not so fun delivery, but that is the coolest that you had your sister there with you. Congratulations!
