This was Jack's very first Pinewood Derby, and he had high hopes for his awesome car "flaming forty-two"!
Tyson, this being his last pinewood derby had much more realistic goals for his car "see-ya".

He lost race after race, and my heart was breaking for him....finally one of the leaders inspected his car and found that some of the dried hot glue from adding weights was rubbing on the track. After sanding the bottom, he was able to win one race, but by then he was pretty sad. I snapped a picture so we could remember for all time. (Ty ended up doing well, and getting like 3rd or 4th place...is it bad I can't remember? ....Which was the best showing an Emig car has ever had!) Joey was out of town, in Amsterdam training for his new job. As for Jack....well, maybe next year it will be better buddy!
